JMV’s Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system provides continuous temperature monitoring along the entire length of an optical fibre. This solution ensures early detection of heat anomalies to protect critical infrastructure.
DTS operates on the Raman backscattering principle. Laser pulses are sent through the fibre, and the intensity of the backscattered Anti-Stokes light changes with temperature variations. The fibre acts as a continuous thermometer, providing precise thermal mapping.
• Laser pulses generate backscatter along the fibre.
• Temperature changes modify the Anti-Stokes signal intensity.
• The system calculates the exact location and temperature value using time delay and intensity analysis.
